Kigali has motorcycles without riders, and riders without motorcycles.
Owners hesitate to buy an electric motorcycle because they can't find someone they trust to ride it. Meanwhile, good riders wait at swap stations every day, looking for a bike. Amini closes that gap.
The owner's problem
- • Hard to find a rider you can trust with your asset
- • Chasing daily payments, by phone, every day
- • A missed payment means a locked bike and lost income
- • No easy way to replace a bad rider
The rider's problem
- • Skilled riders with no motorcycle to work with
- • Waiting at swap stations hoping to meet an owner
- • No way to prove they are reliable
- • Unclear, informal agreements with owners
The Amini solution: TRP vets every rider, assigns them to an owner's motorcycle, collects the daily payment, pays the owner and replaces riders who break the rules. Everyone sees everything in one app.
Four simple steps to get started
Whether you ride or you own motorcycles, joining Amini takes a few minutes on your phone.
Create your account
Download Amini, choose “I'm a Rider” and enter the phone number linked to your Mobile Money.
Get verified
Upload your National ID, Category A licence, police clearance and proof of address. TRP checks every document.
Pay 25,000 RWF once
4,000 RWF commitment fee + 21,000 RWF refundable insurance reserve. Paid from your phone.
Ride & pay daily
Get your motorcycle, ride, swap batteries at stations and pay 7,000 RWF before 20:00 each day.
One payment. Fully transparent.
Riders don't pay owners directly. They pay TRP through the app, and TRP pays the owner. Every franc is tracked, so nobody has to chase anyone.

What if a rider misses a day?
Every rider keeps a 21,000 RWF insurance reserve with TRP, about three days of payments. If they miss a day, the reserve pays the owner, so the owner's income stays safe and the motorcycle isn't locked. The rider tops the reserve back up and a late penalty applies.
